Our Story
A 501c3 non-profit organization, GRACE Cancer Foundation was established in 2008 by Julie Pfeifer and Lisa Willman, two Grand Island, Nebraska breast cancer survivors who had a heartfelt need and desire to help local cancer patients and their families in their fight with this deadly disease. The organization was originally named The GRACE Foundation, with GRACE standing for GRand Island Area Cancer Endowment. In 2018, for the organization's 10th Anniversary, it was re-named GRACE Cancer Foundation. Julie and Lisa's hope is to provide not only emotional support but funds available through GRACE to assist with unique financial obligations and unmet needs for those fighting ALL types of cancer. GRACE Cancer Foundation assists cancer patients who live within 40 miles of Grand Island, Nebraska, or who are being treated at the Grand Island or Hastings Cancer Centers. Help is available through several methods, such as gas cards, assistance with medical bills, household expenses, and more.

The Course
2 Mile
10K
Race Butterfly
Add an on-course Butterfly to honor loved-ones either taken or impacted by cancer. These messages displaying your loved ones names can be placed on either the 10K or 2 Mile course. Butterflies can be purchased for 1 for $5, 3 for $10, or 5 for $20. These can be purchased when registering for the race.
Awards
Awards will be given to the top 2 overall winners in both the 2 mile and 10K race. In addition, awards will be given to the top 2 male and female finishers of BOTH races.
Race Shirts
The deadline to secure your race t-shirt is March 13, 2023. All participants who register before this date are guaranteed a standard race tee! The standard race tee is unisex District brand. Please click here for more information on sizing.
Upgrades!!
Upgrade your standard race tee to one of our premium items for an upgrade fee, or purchase any of these items in addition to the standard tee! Run as a group!
You will have the option to create or join a team when registering for the race. Find a pack of your closest pals, family members, or co-workers and compete as team!
Location
The race will take place at the
Liederkranz at 401 West First Street in Grand Island. In addition to the race, come visit the Race for Grace Expo taking place from 4 to 6pm. Runners can register in person, purchase race Butterflies, pick-up race packets and t-shirts, and prepare for swag from local businesses!
Registration and Packet Pickup
Online race registration will be open from January 1, 2023 to March 30, 2023. In-person registration and packet/Butterfly/shirt pickup will be available at the Liederkranz both the day before and day of the race.
